The Scrumptious Collection Giveaway!

We were sorting through stuff on our return from Ally Pally, and thought it would be nice to do a little blog giveaway.

The Scrumptious Collection1

A copy of the book, and a hank of Skinny Nef Lace in Rich Moss are up for grabs. This is enough yarn to knit either Sonning or Tirrold (all sizes short version), or even Hethe (but only in the smallest size).

It's been a few months since The Scrumptious Collection was published, so to remind you of all the lovely projects it contains, we thought we would send you to have another look at the designs. Check out the Ravelry page with all of the designs on it, and then let us know which is your favourite and why? We will draw a winner at random from all of the comments on this post next Thursday (27th October 2011). One entry per person please!

If you already own a copy of the book, we would love to get some reviews up on its Amazon page. If you feel so inclined you can leave a review here: The Scrumptious Collection on Amazon

Many thanks, and good luck!

Fyberspates does the Knitting and Stitching Show

We had an amazing time at the Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace last week. It was brilliant to meet so many passionate knitters. We adored seeing all the amazing things that you have been making from Scrumptious and our other yarns. It was a real treat.

Ally Pally1

We had a lovely stand, not far from the huge Rose Window - a much-needed landmark to help navigation. The show was MASSIVE! There were hundreds of stands, selling everything from sewing machines and fabric, to beautiful yarns and books.

Team Fyberspates consisted of Jeni (of course! - on the right of the picture above), me (Jen, on the left), Nic (giggling in the photo below), Jim (who came to sell over the weekend) and Dunc (who helped with set-up and break-down).

The boys managed to avoid having their pictures taken - not sure how!

We took it in turns to model the garments from The Scrumptious Collection, but it was ever so hot in the hall. If you came in the afternoon, the chances are the garments were back on the hangers! Nic sorted us out with beautiful pinnies from Andsewtoknit for holding all of our necessities, and I set mine up with a mobile knitting station.

If you missed us at Ally Pally, then do stop by the online shop. The book and full range of Scrumptious yarns are available online.

Thanks also to Mum for having us to stay - much appreciated!

We're booked in with a stand at Fibre Flurry in Birmingham on 29th October, so do come and say hello there as well. More on that later in the week...

Dulcie in The Knitter Issue 37

We were really excited to receive the latest issue of The Knitter! Not only does it include an absolutely stunning brand new Jane Sowerby shawl design, but it also features this delightful little short-sleeved top called Dulcie:

The design is by Amanda Jones and it uses just 1-2 skeins of Fyberspates Scrumptious Lace (shown here in Rose Pink). The design goes from 30 to 44 inch bust size, and features a pretty shell lace motif.

The magazine in on sale in UK shops now, and you are looking for a cover like this:

Isn't the Jane Soweby design beautiful as well? You could use 1 x 100g skein of Scrumptious Lace to knit a single colour version of the triple triangle design...
