The Scrumptious Collection Volume 3 Blog and Podcast Tour Final Day!

We've had so much fun reading all our wonderful contributors for this tour, celebrating the release of Volume 3. It's sadly all over with today's 3 contributors. They're goodies though so we're finishing with a bang!

SCRUMPTIOUSVOL3_frontcover

First up is blogger and videocaster (as well as long time Fyberspates fan), Chrissy from Stitched Together. Chrissy is talking us through her highlights of the book and knitting plans. She's also giving a copy away so do go take a look.

Sticking with the theme of bloggers and podcasters we have A Playful Day. There's obviously something in the water because she's also feeling inspired to cast on and is talking through some of her favourite yarn choices. Be enabled here. She will also be doing a full review on this weekends podcast and a giveaway so stay tuned!

The Scrumptious Collection Volume 3 Blog and Podcast Tour Day 5

One week in to the Blog and Podcast Tour and we're still in awe every time we see the reactions to Volume 3- it's been so fun!

SCRUMPTIOUSVOL3_frontcover

Today we have 2 bloggers who are something of a power duo- again, a completely random pairing but it made us very happy to see how these lined up! Firstly, there is Rachel Coopey who is responsible for some of the Collections accessory sets (and our wonderful front cover knits) that we love so much. She's blogging about her designs today over on her blog so do go take a look

We've also got Team Fyberspates super trooper Jen AC in on the action and she's letting you know her thoughts on Volume 3 too. There's some behind the scenes thoughts as well as another fab giveaway. We love it!

A big thank you to our bloggers today. Don't forget if you haven't yet got your copy of Volume 3, you can do so on Ravelry or the new website right now!

Also, don't forget that there's currently a flurry of cast ons to rise to the challenge that Jeni has set win some seriously impressive prizes. Things are looking a little competitive over in the Fyberspates group as a result! The first person to finish each pattern will get to choose what yarn they would like for another project in the book, (all projects have to be knitted in Scrumptious). So that's 13 winners in all…

AND, if you wear a project from the book to Unravel, you get a 15% voucher for the show.

And… for everyone who finishes a project from the collection you get a 10% voucher for the shop.

So how's that knitting coming along? There's still room at the top!

The Scrumptious Collection Volume 3 Blog and Podcast Tour Day 3

How have you been enjoying the Blog and Podcast Tour so far? We've been thrilled with the features and feel we're learning something new even from the position of putting the Collection together!

SCRUMPTIOUSVOL3_frontcover

Today we have 3 different perspectives from 3 fab bloggers. The first is from our very talented Art and Production Manager, Nic, who blogs over at 'Lalioo's to be Decided'. Having someone from behind the scenes, who is not a knitwear designer but deeply involved in how the Collection comes together is an interesting perspective for everyone and we love the project she has shared! She really fell in love with Rachel Coopey's 'Divelish' set as much as we did.

Next is Lien Ngo, also known as Platinum Knits, who designed the very popular Hamble Sweater. Her insight into the process can be found on her blog today too. This has been a sweater that a lot of people cast on quickly and we can't wait to see the results.

Then finally, we have a favourite friend of Fyberspates, Louise Zass-Bangham, blogging over at Inspiration Knits on her thoughts about the Collection. We are so touched by the warmth and love she's shown for both the Collection and Scrumptious Yarns. We love you too Louise!

Perfect for the wintry weather and ice cold blasts of wind, Rock Lea by Judy Furlong is worked up in Scrumptious Chunky, shown here in the 'Water' colourway.  Luxuriant cables twist and entwine the length of this scarf, with a moss stitch border. This scarf requires 4 x 100g skeins and the pattern includes written instructions for the charts are provided.

Divelish by Rachel Coopey is an amazing Fair Isle set that is bang on trend. Worked up in Scrumptious 4ply/Sport,(colourways shown here are Natural and Slate) to give a high contrast, geometric pattern that really makes this set stand out. Just 1 skein of each colour is enough for one hat and one pair of mittens. The pattern is worked in the round, using stranded knitting technique.

Kenwyn by the second set designed by Rachel Coopey, this time using Scrumptious Aran. Shown here in the 'Midnight' colourway, the lace and cables in squishy Aran make a wonderfully cosy hat and cowl set. The hat requires a single skein, while the cowl requires two skeins for a fast update to your knitwear wardrobe.

Rachel Coopey is also the designer behind Lerryn our gorgeous mitten set worked up in more Scrumptious Aran. Shown here in the 'Teal' colourway, this is a fun cable pattern that bounces around these lovely mittens, that are soft and snuggly to wear. This is another fast, single skein project.

Want to know even more about any of these patterns? We will be hosting a blog tour in the very near future feature the designers themselves and some friends and contributors we can't wait to introduce you to. Stay tuned!

The Scrumptious Collection Volume 3: The Sweaters

We've been sharing designs from our latest collection, due for release this month and today it is the turn of the sweaters from the book. We are thrilled with the Collection and really hope that you will be too.

First, we have Larigan by Amanda Crawford which is knit up in Scrumptious Chunky, (Shown here in the 'Purple' colourway). Travelling stitches create a beautiful pattern, and a cosy cowl neck and folded cuffs give extra warmth. The sweater takes between 9- 14 skeins to knit, depending on the size you choose and of course, because it's chunky, is very fast to work up! Sizing goes from 81-86 cm/ 32-34 inches to 122-127 cm/ 48-50 inches at the bust. This sweater is worked flat, in pieces and then seamed.

Next is Hamble, designed by by Lien Ngo using Scrumptious DK/Worsted, (shown here in the 'Olive' colourway). This sweater features cropped sleeves, a split hem and simple lines to give a smooth silouhette. Available in bust measurements from 79cm/ 31 inches to 125 cm/ 49.25 inches, this can be worked up using between 5-9 skeins. This sweater is knitted in the round from the bottom up. Yoke shaping is incorporated into the pattern and instructions are included for bust and waist shaping in order to achieve the most flattering fit.

Our third cardigan is Mardle by Ruth Garcia-Alcantud shown here in Scrumptious Aran 'Oyster' colourway. This scoop-necked,  slimline sweater is knitted using a nifty sideways construction technique. Specific measurements across the back will help determine the best fit and sizes are available from 81cm/ 32 inches to 127 cm/ 50 inches at the bust.  This sweater can be worked up using between 6 and 11 skeins depending on your chosen size. This sweater features set in sleeves for a really finished look and we think it's ultra feminine.

The Scrumptious Collection Volume 3: Lace

Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing designs from our latest collection, due for release this month! We are thrilled with the Collection and really hope that you will be too.

This post is all about the lace patterns from the collection that showcase Scrumptious Lace, our Silk Merino base that has great stitch definition and drape. All instructions are both written and charted where relevant. We think these pieces are classics and good for all ages to add to their wardrobe.

Simene by Mélanie Edgar features simple lace stitches in an effective zigzag pattern to create a generously-sized laceweight stole. Knit up here in the 'Gold' colourway for maximum impact, the simple graphic motif will add flavour to a work wardrobe as well as dressing up your weekend outfits without too much fuss. It is knitted in two halves and then grafted together using Kitchener stitch and requires just 1 skein of Scrumptious Lace. A great all year round stole as it can be worn as a layered scarf, shoulder warmer, wrap... you choose!

Next is Loveny by Judy Furlong shown here in Scrumptious Lace, 'Wine Gum' colourway. This beautiful mantle uses lots of stunning lace motifs with a gorgeous shaped edging for extra appeal. This combines both flat knitting and knitting in the round and only requires one skein of Lace to work up. Due to its' shape, this can be worn as a cowl, shoulder warmer and has lots of styling options so is suprisingly versatile.

Scrumptious Collection 3: The Cardigans

Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing designs from our latest collection, due for release this month! We are thrilled with the Collection and really hope that you will be too.

This post is all about the cardigans as the collection features 2 in total that we think will be as much a pleasure to knit as to wear. All of our garments are muti sized and instructions are both written and charted where relevant.

Fyberspates_0367
(c) Jesse Wild

First is 'Iwerne' by Kyoko Nakayoshi and is knit using Scrumptious DK/Worsted. This cardigan is sized to fit bust measurements of 81-86 cm/ 32-34 inches to 121-126 cm/ 48-50 inches and the smallest size requires 5 skeins and the largest is 8 skeins.  Beautiful lace adorns the front and sleeves of this elegantly draped cardigan. The sample here is worked up in the 'Slate' Colourway and we think is an elegant addition to your wardrobe. The main body is worked flat, with a circular needle used to accommodate the large number of stitches and curve of the raglan. Sleeves are worked in the round either with DPNs or circular needles magic looped.

We love 'Rosemorran' by Belinda Boaden, worked up in Scrumptious 4ply and shown here in 'Jen's Green' colourway. This cute, vintage-style cardigan is smart, wearable and very versatile. Sized to fit bust 79cms (31 inches) to 125 cm (49.25 inches), and requires 5 skeins for the smallest size and 9 for the largest.
