The Scrumptious Collection Giveaway!

We were sorting through stuff on our return from Ally Pally, and thought it would be nice to do a little blog giveaway.

The Scrumptious Collection1

A copy of the book, and a hank of Skinny Nef Lace in Rich Moss are up for grabs. This is enough yarn to knit either Sonning or Tirrold (all sizes short version), or even Hethe (but only in the smallest size).

It's been a few months since The Scrumptious Collection was published, so to remind you of all the lovely projects it contains, we thought we would send you to have another look at the designs. Check out the Ravelry page with all of the designs on it, and then let us know which is your favourite and why? We will draw a winner at random from all of the comments on this post next Thursday (27th October 2011). One entry per person please!

If you already own a copy of the book, we would love to get some reviews up on its Amazon page. If you feel so inclined you can leave a review here: The Scrumptious Collection on Amazon

Many thanks, and good luck!

  2. Oh I'm torn. Murcott is the one I'll knit first and the one I'm likely to wear. But I also pine to knit a beautiful ruffled vintage cape like Burdrop...
I'll have to say Murcott. But I am torn...

  3. Hethe. Definitely Hethe. It is so delicate and feminine. It would really make me feel like a complete girlie girl if I was wearing it!

  4. I fell in love with Hendred Hat yesterday. So simple and fantastic for showing off the gorgeous yarn.

  5. Longcot is my favourite - it looks very cosy and wearable.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Alvescott for me - just love the detailing

    ReplyDelete
  7. I love sonning it is just the right balance of pretty lace and cosy shawl. All the patterns look great and not doubt are truly scrumptious in real life.

  8. Alvescot. Those cables just pop out and hit me in the eyes.

  9. My fav is CHILDRY because it can be worn all year round & I have loads of 4 ply yarn which encourages me to make lots of them for gifts,

  10. I love Challow best I think (which is why I'm knitting it at the mo!), but after that I think Hethe is stunning!
Have done an Amazon review :-)

  11. They are all beautiful. I would do the CHILDRY because I know it would fit me.

  12. Longcot is the one I would get the most ware from for me.....but its probably easer to say there is not one design I dislike!

    ReplyDelete
  13. It would have to be Alvescot, as I love cables.

  14. There is no question that for me Wytham is the most striking. The lace detail and the feminine shaping of this cardigan is lovely! A close contender is Hethe - again because of the lovely lace edging and its light weight.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I love childry. Burdop is absolutely fabulous as it is so feminine. However, my favourite is Alvescot as the lace detailing is exquisite yet also looks so cosy and warm for winter.

  16. As one of the most indecisive people on the planet this is incredibly difficult for me (and my intention is to solve the problem by knitting them all) but in the meantime, the one I intend to plump for first is Burdrop. There is an almost Wizard of Oz quality about it, which takes me back to my childhood, but now that I'm aging retro is contemporary and I know if I made it, people would ask me where I bought it!

  17. Longcot ..... gorgeous! It looks ideal for snuggling into especially as we're having this cold snap right now.

  18. I really have to choose??!!?? Wytham then - it's beautiful. Or Longcot - it's a classy garment, or Burdrop - frilly loveliness.

  19. murcott is the design that first caught my eye and put the book on my wanties list!

  20. Ooh, so hard to choose! Challow because one of these days I *will* knit a fairisle yoked jumper!

  21. i love the designs in this book..my fave would have to be Alvescot..i hope i win :)

  23. Uffington is my favourite! Looks good with a pair of demons as well as a dress and looks great in about any colour!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Arncott and Challow are my favorites. Love the neckline details on Challow.

    ReplyDelete
  25. They are all beautiful but the hendred hat looks like I could knit it and wear it too.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hadn't seen this book before, would love to win it. I love the Longcot with its classic lines and beautiful drape

    ReplyDelete
  27. My favorite is Hinksey - they're such distinctive mitts, with a large-format design across the entire back of the hand. Very modern and distinctive, and wearable as well. Haven't seen anything quite like them before. Nice work

  28. I am a big fan of arm- and legwarmers, so therefore my favorite is the pattern for'Cogges Armwarmers'.
Wonderful photos by the way, they look really stunning!
Have a nice day all! Ciao, Fleur (Fleurtje-Eliza on Ravelry)

  29. Alvescot...the cables are beautiful!

  30. Fyberspates is on my list of Someday Yarns; I think a trip to the UK might be required. (Oh, no, not international travel!) Challow is really cute; I have a thing for yoked sweaters at the moment

    ReplyDelete
  31. I really like the Wytham pattern. The lace is just scrumptious and it shapes the cardigan beautifully.
    lindaran (on Rav)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I like the Arncott pattern because I love to knit hats and this is an interesting design.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would have to plump for Wytham as it is really chic and I could use it during the winter when I still have to look well turned out but need a good handknit! But they are all really beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would have to start out with Sonning with that lovely wool. My next project would have to be the feminine Hethe and next the eye catching Alvescot. What a wonderful collection indeed and such a hard decision to make. I could go on and on....

    ReplyDelete
  35. Difficult choice, but Hinksey and Hethe are my favourites.

    ReplyDelete
  36. My favorite is Stonor - it's so delicate and lacy with such elegant lines.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ok - I have to pick two. Sorry, but Wytham would look great on my youngest daughter and Longcot would look great on my oldest. You really can't expect me to choose, can you?

Alvescot for me, it was a beautiful pattern to knit and showed off the yarn to perfection, besides being the first sweater I ever knitted. Still love it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I love UffingtonI The leaf detail is great, and I am really drawn to red these days. That being said, I love the colour of the lace weight yarn in the giveaway! :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think one of my next projects will have to be a tirrold. mind you a hethe would be lovely!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I love Wytham for it's simplicity but with gorgeous lace on the bottom, pefect for me. Must get the yarn and knit it one day!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I really love the challow sweater.
    I'm squiggi on ravelry

    ReplyDelete
  43. I love Murcott - so classic and pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I adore Hethe, so quintesstially feminine but my vote goes to Sonning. The central lace panel is fabulous !

    ReplyDelete
  45. It's really difficult to choose, but I'll say Arncott: maybe for the beautiful red of the yarn, or because I love the change from one section to the other. I really love your yarns!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Looks like a great book. I'll have to check it out sometime! And I love that color green. :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. It's soooo hard to make a choice, but I am totally fan of mittens, and Hinksey is gorgeous. Seems to be warm enough and not to difficult ...
I hope having a chance at drawing, cause I've meet your yarn at "le lot et la laine" this summer and they are luxurious !!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I love Hethe, a perfect summer layer, feminine but not too girly.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Never thought I'd find a pattern book where I'd want to make EVERYTHING! I've made a start with Sonning shawl to wear at son's wedding next Spring. For sheer originality and exquisiteness I'd have to choose Burdrop as my favourite, but it is really very difficult to select one over all the rest.

Challow just looks so flattering and simple and I'd probably wear Childry every day- I can't choose between them.

    ReplyDelete
  51. This would be so great! I think the book looks marvelous and that yarn is divine... My favorite design is Alvescot, but there are so many wonderful ones!

    ReplyDelete
  52. The book looks so beautiful and inspiring. My favorite design is Hethe.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Do I really need to pick only one favourite! The Cogges set is gorgeous, the details on Uffington are fantastic, however Childry is fabulous and in a perfect colour, that one is going in my Ravelry favs! What a fantastic giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I love Hinksey - I'm in the mood for cables right now, and these look they'd go with just about anything (they could be dressy or sporty).

    ReplyDelete
  55. All the patterns are great, but accessories hold a special place in my heart. I really like Arncott and both Cogges patterns, but Hinksey has to be my favorite. I love how these mittens are playful and elegant all at the same time, and look super cozy as well!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Wow, this was a hard decision. I LOVE Alvescot but I'd probably make Hendred hat first.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hard to choose, but I think Arncott and Hinksey are my faves!

    ReplyDelete
  58. They're all so pretty, but I think my overall favourite is Challow - I know that shape works well for me and the butterflies are lovely :)
That said, if I were lucky enough to win I would totally knit Tirrold.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I love Hethe - it must go on my to do list!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think that Alvescot is my favorite for its original mix of cables and lace. I've seen Hethe for real, and it is absolutely fabulous, I just think it must be too difficult to knit a sweater in lace weight yarn.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Love the green yarn. My two favorites are Childry and Arncott. Hope I win!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Burdrop for me - it's gorgeous - beautiful vintage feel and lovely drape. Doesn't everyone need a not bulky cape to add to their cape collection - Oh does that reveal that I have a bit of a thing for capes...

    ReplyDelete
  63. I was at Ally Pally and I saw tirrold , understated and hanging on the wall and then on the dress form the delicate and intricate hethe. I cant decide between the two. I bought the booklet and enough yarn to knit both patterns in 2 different colors . Love at first sight !

    ReplyDelete
  64. I like Hinksey because the stitch pattern is a bit unusual.

  65. My choice has to be Hethe so delicate yet would look great over an evening dress or with jeans AND one of my fave colours.
I loved stroking your yarns at Ally Pally and will be putting some on my Christmas list

  66. Hethe is completely beautiful. I would love to win this.
